The IDF Defender, often referred to as Galil, is one of the 6 assault rifles featured in Counter-Strike: Source. It is normally only available to Terrorists, but zombies cannot use weapons. Counter-Terrorists can buy one through !zmarket.
These specifications are generalized to make it easy for people who want to play the Zombie Escape mod, and therefor only the specifications of the weapon relative to the gameplay will be displayed for easy understanding.
|Damage||min = 20
max = 119
|Knockback (against zombies)||Bodyshot = Moderate|
Headhot = High
|Recoil (of the weapon)||High|
|Rate of fire||± 12 shots/s (35 clips/magazine)|
|Speed reduction||Extremely high|
The IDF Defender is one of the assault rifles that is more suited to the zombie escape gameplay than most other assault rifles due to its knockback combined with its high rate of fire. It can hold off zombies easily if you are accompanied with other players to cover you. However, this weapon is really outmatched against the speed of zombies. Its heavy weight is rather remarkable and surpasses many other weapons, the M249 included. It is comparable to the CV-47, but this would still be a better choice. It really depends on how well you can handle both of the guns. As always, consider switching to your knife or pistol when running.
