The final or stable phase equals the latest, playable version of a published map. Criteria for this status are that it should be perfectly playable with no, minor or at least non-fatal bugs or crashes.
When a map is released but still in development, it is called an alpha version. When a map is being released as a 'preview', it is called a beta version.
